Schneider Electric was an industry pioneer in its twin transition to a digital and sustainable
solution provider. After announcing its EcoStruxure platform in 2012, the transformation got
off to a slow start. The main challenge was how to mobilise a successful product company to
change when the traditional business continued to perform well.
The case provides (i) an inside view of the transformation programme, which went through
four stages, (ii) insights on how to lead a strategic transformation in a structured manner.
