Summary

Unilabs offers diagnostic services to hospitals and health systems (B2B) and individual patients (B2C). Portugal, one of Unilabs’ 15 markets, is at the forefront of the company’s efforts to use analytics as part of its transformation to a data-driven organization. The case describes the process of developing a data intelligence strategy, changing internal operational processes accordingly, and the initial steps towards creating data-driven products for customers. It provides examples of how analytics can be used to improve back office operations and existing services, as well as to enable new ones.
