INSEAD ranked in Top 3 for research Impact by The Case Centre

The Case Centre

INSEAD has been recognized for its commitment to rigorous and relevant research that has a real impact on management by finishing third in The Case Centre Impact Index 2023. Launched as part of The Case Centre’s 50th anniversary year, the new index celebrates the global reach and impact of an organisation’s case writing.

INSEAD ranked third position globally amongst other international business schools and claiming the top spot amongst European institutions. This achievement reflects the school's commitment to research excellence and the case method and a desire to continue to shape the landscape of business education and inspire students and professionals worldwide.

Lily Fang, Dean of Research at INSEAD, stated: “I am truly proud that our faculty’s cases have been recognized as having a strong impact in the classroom and beyond. At INSEAD the rigor and relevance of our research is a source of pride and a core value of the school. I am excited to see our faculty continue to contribute even more to business education and business practice in the years to come.

INSEAD is among just a handful of schools that invest heavily in case writing. Since 2022, INSEAD authors have supplied The Case Centre with 135 new cases for distribution from INSEAD authors. In total the collection of INSEAD cases available through The Case Centre numbers over 2,300, many with accompanying instructor materials, software and videos. 202 of those are prize-winning cases.

INSEAD also offers a number of free cases and its innovative case website offers educators free access to previously unavailable original materials for teaching. Each one provides direct and free access to a wealth of additional information and audio-visual resources.

The INSEAD case collection also includes cases and supplementary materials from the INSEAD Blue Ocean Strategy Institute.

The Index is compiled using The Case Centre's usage data from the previous academic year. To reflect the global reach and impact of an organisation's case writing, the index metrics include how many of their cases have been adopted, by how many organisations, in how many countries, and how many individual students have been taught with the cases. All organisations that have published at least one case with The Case Centre during the previous academic year are eligible.

As the independent home of the case method and distributor of the world’s largest and most diverse collection of cases, including those from leading business schools worldwide, The Case Centre is uniquely placed to reward case teaching and writing excellence.

Harvard Business School finished first in the list, with ICFAI Business School (IBS) in India, taking second place.
