This workbook focuses on three international companies in the automotive manufacturing industry. The industry write-up gives an overview of the industry; growth development, as well as cost cutting measures in response to the prevailing economic situation. Similarly, the company write-ups are a general overview of the history and business segments within each company. Brief descriptions of various accounting ratios (sub-divdided into five main categories) and their formulas are included to be calculated for each company, using the respective financial statements provided as exhibits.
The objective of this workbook is for the user to analyze the accounting ratios calculated. The analysis can be done according to a year-to-year as well as company-to-company comparison. These analyses will be based on the nature of the accounting ratios.
