E.ON: Building a New AI Powered Energy World

The case discusses the journey of E.ON, the German energy utility company, strengthening its Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data capabilities. It also explores the different challenges and lessons it has been facing along the way. The case presents a good example of a technological transformation fostering the energy transition while also providing insights about AI for organisations beyond the energy sector.

This is a collection of 40 profiles of long-lived family firms representing all but eight members of the Hénokiens, a French association whose 48 members have survived for more than two centuries. The family business narrative is based on five analytical pillars: family assets, roadblocks, succession planning, professionalization, and adaption and innovation.

Professor David Dubois has written some short recommendations to help instructors who will use the cases: Digital analytics at L’Oréal , Digital transformation at AccorHotels and Digitally-powered customer centricity at AirLiquide in the coming months remotely.
