The case recounts the creation in 2021 of Brave Generation Academy (BGA) and its subsequent growth. Entrepreneur Tim Viera and his wife Lidia were frustrated with the traditional schooling system that had been delivered the same way for decades yet still failed to provide the skills and scale-of-access needed to become a social elevator and source of talent. Their vision was to make high-quality education accessible to anyone – financially and geographically – and set a benchmark for private and public entities seeking new ways to teach and learn. They were convinced their model could also help address the global shortage of competent teachers.
The case describes BGA’s hybrid education system, a learner-centric and flexible model that combines online and in-person learning hubs. The focus is on the strategic, operational and financial challenges of scaling BGA’s “school-in-a-box” concept across multiple geographies. Additional context is provided in the form of new programmes such as BGA Online, “Powered by BGA”, Brave Academy of Sports (BAS), and Brave Future, an NGO launched in 2024.

5. Explore the role of technology in supporting personalized learning and operational efficiency.
6. Develop recommendations for international market entries (e.g., to the US, Brazil, India) considering regulatory, cultural, and competitive factors.
